Feasibility study for Zeeland logistics
In order to carry out transports with an electric truck in the future, we have submitted a subsidy via the province for a feasibility study into the technical and economic feasibility of a decentralized high-power storage and charging system. The grant has already been awarded. Our research falls under the ' Port & Logistics' . The amount comes from the subsidy scheme 'Zeeland in Stroommetaal'. The results of all projects should be known by the end of 2022, which is why we recently tested an electric truck in Sweden.

Decentralized storage and charging system for logistics in Zeeland
Zuidwest Logistiek and its partners are conducting research into the technical and economic feasibility of a decentralized high-power storage and charging system. This system consists of batteries that are charged by solar panels. As a result, the (partly) empty roofs of agricultural companies and distribution centers are used to generate green energy for use in heavy logistics transport and the agricultural sector. This current can be used, for example, to charge electric trucks.
Sustainable and electric transport is the future
By using fast charging, the impact on business operations is limited. An example of this is that charging takes place when the drivers are forced to take a break. This should contribute to the electrification of heavy logistics transport. Together with the partners – HZ University of Applied Sciences (Logistics Lectureship, Engineering Lecture), Electronic Repair-Logistics BV and Maatschap Van Oorschot Agriculture – Zuidwest Logistiek will receive a €50,000 subsidy.
